The government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating digital transformation in the education sector following a high-level meeting between Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba and Huawei Global President for Education Peter Zhang.
The meeting, held on Thursday at the Ministry of Education’s Jogoo House B offices, focused on strengthening collaboration to expand digital learning and equip Kenyan learners with the skills needed to succeed in the digital economy.
Ogamba said the government is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to integrate technology into education, ensuring learners across the country benefit from modern, technology-enabled learning. He noted that partnerships with global technology firms are critical in supporting the country’s education reforms and preparing young people for future job markets.
Huawei, a long-standing partner in Kenya’s digital transformation efforts, continues to support initiatives aimed at improving digital infrastructure, innovation, and skills development in the education sector.
The discussions come as Kenya steps up efforts to modernize its education system and enhance digital access in schools as part of its broader economic transformation agenda.
