 Butere MP wants political aspirants to let their work speak

Butere MP Tindi Mwale has challenged politicians eyeing the various

 elective positions in the constituency to step forward, engage voters and prove themselves through their record instead of waiting to be handed political positions.

            Speaking Saturday in the area, Mwale said aspiring leaders should not depend on political patrons to introduce them to voters, but should build their own connection with the people through service and consistent engagement.

            He said the era of waiting to be supported by influential politicians was outdated, urging aspirants to allow their work and ideas to speak for them.

            “Those seeking elective posts should face the voters and seek their support. Do not hide and wait for outdated political support. Your work should prove your worth as a leader,” Mwale said.

            The MP said leadership was about being present among the people, understanding their concerns and demonstrating what one could offer before asking for their support.

He urged residents to look beyond political rhetoric and pay attention to what aspiring leaders had done in their communities.

            Mwale said voters had the responsibility to question candidates about their plans and assess whether they had demonstrated commitment to the constituency.

            His remarks come in the wake of rising political activities in Butere, with prospective candidates increasingly seeking visibility, ahead of the 2027 General Election.

            Mwale has represented Butere in the National Assembly since 2017 and currently chairs the Public Accounts Committee.
